Whitstable Oysters

A late Sunday evening over whitstable, and after a long drive from north London, and a short walk along the coast we were ready for the seafood treat at The Lobster Shack. Whitstable famous for its ‘Native Oysters’ which were collected from the low beds off the coast from when the Romans where in the UK times until the mid-20th century.

The edge of the streets  leading to the beach are covered in oyster shells, which get washed back into the sea over time. The ‘native oysters’ are not as abundant as they were but never less they feature heavy on the Menus across the town.
